From November 17th to 19th, the "2023 Chengdu Forum on Cities, Regions and Development" was successfully held at the Guanghua Campus. This forum is hosted by the Urban and Regional Economic Innovation Team of RIEM at SWUFE, with the aim of promoting sustainable development of cities and regions. Nearly 60 attendees gathered together.
The forum invited nearly 20 scholars from 10 higher education institutions, including Fudan University, Jinan University, Hunan University, Nankai University, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Shandong University, Sichuan Foreign Studies University, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Wuhan University, and Renmin University of China, to share their latest research achievements. scussion topics cover multiple aspects, including transportation infrastructure, artificial intelligence, urbanization, child care, real estate market, land supply, urban pollution, administrative division adjustment, taxation, returning farmland to forests, unified market construction, digital transformation of agricultural product supply chain, household consumption and investment, fertility policy, family financial decision-making, digital trade, global value chain of enterprises, mental health of adolescents, and population spatial structure, We have conducted in-depth discussions on hot issues related to Chinese cities, regions, and sustainable development.
The purpose of this forum is to provide a high-quality academic exchange platform for university scholars, further deepen the academic understanding of urban, regional and development issues, and provide policy suggestions for promoting the rapid development of Chinese cities and regions and promoting the construction of new urbanization. It also fully demonstrates the advantages and characteristics of RIEM and its urban and regional economic innovation team in serving national strategic needs.
