Speaker's Profile
Luo Jie holds a PhD in Economics from Fudan University and is an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics, University of International Business and Economics. His research interests focus on macroeconomics, the Chinese economy, financial development, sovereign debt, and dynamic contract theory. His research has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of International Economics, International Economic Review, and Journal of Urban Economics.
Abstract
A novel assignment model is constructed to study the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on the labor market. The skill space of jobs is partitioned into disjoint segments of the market that clear locally. We ask how the advancement of AI affects employment and GDP, the wage level, and wage inequality.
