Profile

Dong Yan is currently working as a Professor and Doctoral supervisor. She was selected for Sichuan Province's "Tianfu Ten Thousand Talents Program – Financial Elite" and is a candidate for the 13th Batch of Sichuan Provincial Academic and Technical Leaders. She currently serves as the Executive Dean of RIEM at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and the Director African Studies Center (a National and Regional Studies Center registered by Ministry of Education).

Her main research fields are Financial system reform, Risk management, and International finance. She has published over 30 papers in several well-known Chinese and English journals, including Economic Research Journal, Economics Quarterly, Financial Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, China Economic Review and Emerging Markets Review. She has led and participated in multiple national and provincial-level research projects. Joining Training Quality and Teaching Reform Projects for Provincial Higher Education Talent, she won the first prize of Sichuan Provincial Higher Education Excellent Teaching Achievement Award in 2013 and 2021.
