Associate Professor (with tenure) and Ph.D. supervisor at the Institute of Economics and Management, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Economics at Michigan State University in 2008. Her primary research interests include macroeconomics, the Chinese macroeconomy, business cycles, macro-finance, and monetary policy. She was awarded the Dissertation Completion Fellowship by Michigan State University in Spring 2008.
She has published 12 papers in major domestic and international journals, including Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control (2 papers), Journal of Comparative Economics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Economic Inquiry, and Economic Perspectives (《经济学动态》), among which 8 papers are single-authored.
She has served as an anonymous referee for more than ten prominent domestic and international journals, including Economic Inquiry, Oxford Economic Papers (3 times), Journal of Macroeconomics, Economic Modelling (4 times), China Economic Review (2 times), Applied Economics (2 times), and China Economic Studies (《中国经济问题》) (3 times). She has also served as a dissertation reviewer for the Academic Degrees Center of China’s Ministry of Education.
She has presented papers more than 50 times at major international and domestic conferences, including the World Congress of the Econometric Society, North American Summer Meeting of the Econometric Society (three times), European Meeting of the Econometric Society (twice), Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society in East and Southeast Asia (five times), Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society in Econometric Society in China (four times), Australasia Meeting of the Econometric Society (twice), Midwest Macroeconomics Meetings (four times), the Annual Meeting of the Urban Economics Association, Society for Computational Economics – Computing in Economics and Finance (six times), the Scottish Economic Society Annual Conference, the Tsinghua Workshop in Macroeconomics (July 2009), the Tsinghua Workshop in Macroeconomics for Young Economists (July 2011), the CCER Summer Institute at Peking University (July 2022), the China Economics Annual Conference at South China University of Technology (May 2023), the Annual Forum on Economic Growth and Business Cycles at Xiamen University (December 2023), and the Annual Conference on Financial Systems Engineering and Risk Management at Capital University of Economics and Business (November 2024).
Since 2009, she has taught Advanced Macroeconomics I, a core course for first-year Ph.D. students, every year, and has also taught Intermediate Macroeconomics to undergraduate students. She has supervised 6 Ph.D. students (5 of them, including one international student, have already received their doctoral degrees) and 4 master’s students (including one international student, all of whom have received their master’s degrees).
